Dalton (Patrick Swayze) ist ein professioneller Rausschmeisser für Lokale und Clubs. Er führt nicht nur die gesamte Security, sondern sorgt auch für Ordnung und schmeißt Betrunkene eigenhändig hinaus. Als er seinen Job im Road House antritt, ahnt er nicht, daß er damit Brad Wesley (Ben Gazzara), dem mächtigsten Mann der Stadt auf die Füße tritt. Der will die Kontrolle über das Road House - um jeden Preis!
